The Effectiveness of Family Therapy in Social Case Work in The Development of Family Resilience to Mothers of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Abstract

Family resilience is one of the most important basic and modern trends in creating a positive, successful and supportive family environment for mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder through the ability to think positively, maintain family cohesion and communication, a positive outlook and integration into society. Therefore, the current study sought to test the effectiveness of a professional intervention program using family therapy in serving the individual to develop family resilience among mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder. To achieve the objectives of the study, the program was applied to an experimental sample of (11) individuals from mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder using the quasi-experimental approach based on a sample, one of which is experimental and the other is control. The results of the study showed the effectiveness of family therapy in social case work in developing family resilience among mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder. The results also proved the validity of the study hypotheses with its dimensions of resilience in positive thinking and resilience in family communication. Effectiveness and resilience in solving family problems. The study concluded with the development of future research proposals on family resilience, given its novelty in social work in general and case work in particular.
