The study aimed to identify the role of green social work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in achieving Vision 2030 by highlighting the level of awareness among social workers working in civil society organizations in the environmental field in the Kingdom regarding the concept of green social work, as well as the most important skills and knowledge that social workers operating in this field should possess, along with their roles. The study adopted a social survey methodology covering all workers in civil society organizations in the environmental field in the Kingdom, with a total of 130 participants. The study found that social workers have awareness of the concept of green social work, and that they possess a moderate level of knowledge regarding the skills and knowledge specific to green social work that they should have. There were statistically significant differences in participants' responses regarding knowledge in favor of those who had received training courses in green social work, and in favor of those with higher educational levels. The study recommended that social work colleges at universities develop social work curricula to integrate green social work within these curricula, and that the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, and non-governmental organizations encourage social workers to seize training opportunities in continuous professional development activities related to green social work in collaboration with higher education institutions
