Abstract

The study aimed to determine the contributes of Voluntary work to enhance of social capital within a group of volunteers, White Hand is as example. This study is the descriptive study conducted among White Hands team members. The sample was (200) members and researcher used questionnaire to collect the data and (192) were retrieved, or 96% of the total. Five dimensions of social capital were investigated: citizenship, tolerance, community involvement, trust, and collaboration. According to the result of the study, the level of building of social capital (2.54), with a standard deviation of (0.41). Trust was the highest dimension followed by citizenship, and community involvement, the last dimension was cooperation. The study comes up with some recommendations which can enhance the role of volunteers in effectively enhance to social capital such as: establishing main center to deal with volunteers and including voluntary course in the school curriculum at all levels.
