Abstract

The current study aims to identify a main objective, which is: to identify the role played by management by objectives in improving social care services provided to clients and beneficiaries in social development institutions. Several sub-objectives branch out from this objective, which are: to identify the level of application of management by objectives in development institutions, to identify the level of application of management by objectives in improving social care services in development institutions, to identify obstacles to applying management by objectives in improving social care services in development institutions, to identify the components of applying management by objectives in improving social care services in development institutions, and to identify proposals to activate the role of management by objectives in improving social care services in development institutions. This study falls within the descriptive-analytical study genre and relies on the comprehensive social survey approach. Data was collected through a questionnaire as a study tool, applied to a sample of (86) members of nine development institutions in Assiut. The study reached several important conclusions, the most important of which are: the level of implementation of management by objectives (MBO) in development institutions is high; the level of contribution of MBO implementation to improving social welfare services in development institutions is high; and the level of obstacles to implementing MBO in development institutions is high.
