Abstract

Children grow up in an environment surrounded by various electronic devices, which are rapidly evolving and easily accessible. Although this progress may be fruitful and beneficial for future generations, it is also worrisome. We are raising a generation of children who live lifestyles dependent on these electronics. This means that computers and mobile devices have become necessities for them, rather than luxuries. However, this does not mean that they are not negatively affected by them, or that they are safe for their psychological and social health. Therefore, we must reduce their use of them as much as possible, but in a systematic manner. Therefore, the aim of this research is to define the concept of electronic screen syndrome, its symptoms, the factors leading to this syndrome, and its risks. This research is a descriptive-analytical study, relying on a random sample of mothers of primary school children at the Omar Ibn Al-Khattab Institute in Assiut. A questionnaire was used for a sample of (180) individuals. The results of the research led to the development of a Proposed Preventive Program in the social group work to Awareness Mothers about the Risks of Electronic Screen Syndrome on their children.
