This study aims to identify the challenges faced by field training students in applying the skills acquired from the Social Work Program. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach, and a questionnaire was used as the data collection tool. The sample consisted of 154 male and female students from the Social Work Program at Umm Al-Qura University. The results indicated that the level of students’ skill acquisition from the program was moderate. Regarding the application of these skills during the field training period, the findings revealed a high level of practice, reflecting that students were able to apply the acquired skills effectively within the professional practice environment. Moreover, the results showed that students demonstrated a good level of commitment to essential professional skills, such as punctuality, objectivity, and the organization of events during documentation. However, some challenges emerged, particularly in applying therapeutic skills in real-world settings and the tendency to rely on self-directed solutions without involving the client. The study recommended strengthening practical training programs that focus on developing decision-making skills and collaborative work with clients, in line with the principles of cognitive theory, which emphasize the interaction between theoretical understanding and practical application.
