Abstract

This research aims to examine the functional and applied role of clinical social workers within the Saudi healthcare system, focusing on their adherence to global standards such as the Joint Commission International (JCI) and their impact on improving patient experiences. A comprehensive survey was designed to target clinical social workers and healthcare professionals in Saudi Arabia, gathering data from a sample of 150 participants. The study included descriptive and statistical analyses of collected data, covering demographics, academic qualifications, and the scope of clinical tasks performed.
The findings revealed that 80% of participants demonstrated a high level of awareness of global quality standards, while 70% confirmed that their clinical interventions significantly enhance patient experiences. Furthermore, 60% of participants rated their collaboration with medical teams as "excellent," reflecting strong functional integration. However, challenges such as resource shortages and inadequate training in some institutions hindered optimal performance in certain cases.
The study concludes with recommendations to enhance training programs, provide adequate resources, and develop innovative strategies, such as implementing electronic case management systems and establishing national initiatives to support clinical social workers.
