The effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy in serving the individual to alleviate social anxiety among children of divorced people

Abstract

The study aimed to test the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy in serving the individual to reduce the severity of social anxiety among children of divorcees. The study used the concepts of (effectiveness - acceptance and commitment therapy - social anxiety). The study was applied to a sample of (20) children of divorcees who were divided into two groups, one experimental and the other control. The results of the study showed that there are statistically significant moral differences between the average ranks of the experimental group's scores and the ranks of the control group's scores in the post-measurement in favor of the experimental group on the social anxiety scale for children of divorcees. There are statistically significant moral differences between the average ranks of the experimental group's scores in the pre- and post-measurements in favor of the post-measurement on the social anxiety scale for children of divorcees. There are statistically significant moral differences between the average ranks of the experimental group's scores in the pre- and post-measurements in favor of the post-measurement on the social anxiety scale for children of divorcees. In addition to achieving the goals of the treatment program, which are reducing isolation and avoiding social interaction, reducing negative self-evaluation, and reducing confrontation anxiety in social situations.
