Good Governance and Achieving Organizational Excellence in NGOs

Abstract

The study aimed to monitor the reality of good governance in civil society organizations, determine the level of achieving organizational excellence in civil society organizations, and determine the most dimensions of good governance related to achieving organizational excellence in civil society organizations. This study belongs to descriptive studies. The study relied on using the comprehensive social survey approach for officials in civil society organizations in Aswan Governorate, numbering (141) individuals. The researcher applied a questionnaire form to officials about good governance and achieving organizational excellence in civil society organizations. The results of the study proved that the level of dimensions of good governance as a whole is high, as it came in the following order (accountability, participation, transparency, justice). The level of achieving organizational excellence in civil society organizations as a whole is also high, as it came in the following order (transformational leadership, exploring supportive external resources, flexible organizational structure, optimal investment of available resources). In the end, the study proved that there is a statistically significant direct relationship between good governance and achieving organizational excellence in civil society organizations, and that the most dimensions of good governance related to achieving organizational excellence in civil society organizations were represented in the following (accountability, followed by Justice, then participation, and finally transparency).
