The role of student activities in developing digital citizenship for university youth groups

Abstract

The nature of digital technology has imposed the need for a governing value framework for university youth in their dealings with digital vocabulary in order to achieve maximum benefit from its diverse capabilities while mitigating its negative effects on society and its individuals. The university youth group receives great attention from all countries because they bear the responsibility for community development. Which requires developing their digital citizenship < br />
. Therefore, this study seeks to determine the role of student activities in developing their digital citizenship. This study belongs to the style of descriptive analytical studies, and relied on the sample social survey approach. A questionnaire form was applied to a deliberate sample of (100) members of activity groups. The results of the study revealed the multiplicity of roles played by activity groups and the existence of many mechanisms that contribute to developing the values of digital citizenship among university youth.
