Abstract

Abstract: The study aims to determine The relationship between life pressures and high rates of maternal violence toward their children In light of the life model in social casework. This study belongs to descriptive studies, and was applied to a random sample of (325) mothers participating in the research, and (the life pressures scale) was used. The (Violence Scale) was prepared by the researcher.
The results showed that the dimensions of life stress are most closely related to mothers’ physical violence toward their children. Economic pressures, where the correlation coefficient value reached (0.91), followed by social pressures, where the correlation value between them reached (0.83), while the dimensions of life pressures that were least related to mothers’ physical violence towards their children were personal pressures, where the value of the correlation coefficient between them reached (0.38). The most common dimensions of life pressures are linked to mothers’ verbal violence toward their children. Social pressures, where the correlation coefficient value reached (0.86), followed by the pressures of raising children, where the correlation value between them reached (0.76), while the dimensions of life pressures that were least related to mothers’ verbal violence towards their children were personal pressures, where the correlation coefficient value between them reached (0.58).
