The professional competence of the school social worker and its relationship to providing cognitive flexibility to field training students

Abstract

The current study aimed to measure the level of professional competence (professional knowledge-professional skills-professional values) of the school social worker From the students' vision, and to measure the level of cognitive flexibility among field training students in dealing with school problems (Adapting to difficult situations - producing alternative solutions to problems) From the students' vision, determining the the correlation between the level of professional competence of the school social worker, and providing field training students with cognitive flexibility in dealing with school problems, and arriving at proposed procedural mechanisms from a social work perspective to achieve cognitive flexibility among field training students in dealing with school problems, The study belonged to the type of evaluative studies, and was based on the use of the social survey approach The results showed that there is a statistically significant direct correlation between the professional competence of the school social worker and the field training students’ acquisition of cognitive flexibility in dealing with school problems. The study also recommended the need to pay attention to developing cognitive flexibility among field training students by organizing many training courses and professional activities to enhance their abilities. Creative and innovative to deal with complex school problems.
