Abstract
The study aimed to identify the reality of motivation to learn among students with low academic achievements in the second cycle of basic education in Wilayat Al Suwaiq .In addition, to identify the actual role that is done by the social workers to help students enhance the motivation to learn.
The study adopted the descriptive analytical approach, which was applied through the use of the method of a comprehensive social survey of social workers, who were about 16 male and female specialists, and a social survey of a sample of low-achieving students about 128 students, and it was relied on to design a measure of motivation to learn, and a questionnaire for social workers.
The study concluded a number of results; the most important one is the level of motivation of a sample of low-achieving students towards learning in the schools of the second cycle is considered medium motivation, Social workers need to be equipped with knowledge and skills to help them deal with cases of low motivation to learn The study also presented some proposals; the most, to hold training courses for social workers on ways to stimulate students' motivation to learn.
