Strategic planning as an input to manage future risks in residential institutions for children

Abstract

Despite the importance and role of shelter institutions in the community, they face many risks, and those risks increase in importance with the target group, especially childhood and children at risk. Therefore, the importance of strategic planning comes in predicting and reducing future risks. Accordingly, the problem of the current study was identified in "strategic planning as an input in managing future risks in residential institutions for children." This study belongs to the type of descriptive studies. The study relied on the use of the social survey methodology with the available sample, "the researcher's soft sample", for workers in residential institutions in the East Nasr City Social Administration in Cairo Governorate, numbering (112) individuals.
The objectives of the study were to determine the level of using strategic planning in residential institutions. Determine the level of future risk management in residential institutions. In addition, to determine the relationship between the use of strategic planning and management of future risks in residential institutions. In addition, identifying the difficulties facing the use of strategic planning in managing future risks in residential institutions. Moreover, reaching a proposed vision to activate the use of strategic planning in managing future risks in residential institutions for children.
The study proceeded from the following main hypothesis: "There is a statistically significant positive direct relationship between the use of strategic planning and future risk management in residential institutions."
