A proposed program from the perspective of method of social group work to reduce the feeling of social stigma among sons with psychological disorders

Abstract

The social stigma threatens the individual's social and professional life, and can deprive the individual of basic needs and marginalize him. The stigma of psychological illness poses a heavy burden on people who suffer from psychological illnesses in private and public life, and also affects their relatives and on the social network. The study aimed to determine the manifestations and level of feeling The social stigma among sons with psychological disorders and a proposed program from the perspective of social group work to alleviate the feeling of social stigma among sons with psychological disorders. The concepts of the study are defined in(The concept of the program from the perspective of the social group work, the concept of feeling social stigma), this study belongs to the type of descriptive studies using a comprehensive inventory of sons with psychological disorders, using a questionnaire entitled “Feeling social stigma among sons with psychological disorders”, and the study sample consisted of ( 75) single, and the study concluded that the level of feeling social stigma among sons with psychological disorders is high, with an arithmetic mean (2.7) and a standard deviation (0.47), and a proposed program was developed from the perspective of how to social group work to mitigate them.
