Abstract

The study aimed to test the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy to reduce social stigma among mothers of children with Down syndrome, and this study belongs to experimental studies, and the experimental method was used on a sample of (20) mothers of children with Down syndrome divided into (10) experimental cases and (10) cases Controlled, using interview tools and the social stigma scale, and its results proved that "there are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the pre-measurement scores for the cases of the two control and experimental groups on the scale of social stigma among mothers of children with Down syndrome, and there are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the pre-measurement scores for the cases of the two control groups. and experimental on the social stigma scale for mothers of children with Down syndrome, and there are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the pre and post measurements for the cases of the control group on the social stigma scale among the mothers of children with Down syndrome, and there are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the pre and post measurements for the cases of the experimental group on the scale of the experimental group. Social stigma among mothers of children with Down syndrome in favor of dimensional measurement, and there are statistically significant differences The mean of the degrees of variance rates between the pre and post measurements for the two groups.
