Abstract

Spread of electronic rumors on Social Media are is one of the important issues that have become of great interest to officials and professionals, because of the risks and negative consequences that it entails on society as a whole, and for this the current study aimed to know the reasons and motives behind the spread of electronic rumors on social sites, and to identify The risks resulting from the spread of electronic rumors on the users of Social Media by relying on the social survey method using a regular random sample of (228) students of the fourth year at the Faculty of Social Work, where the results of the study indicated that due to the loss of confidence and the lack of dialogue between youth and official leaders, With the failure to respond to the inquiries of users of Social Media, one of the most important reasons behind the spread of electronic rumors, and the results of the study concluded that there are risks and negative effects of electronic rumors on students, and these risks were represented in psychological risks, social risks, political risks, and economic risks. The study leads to a proposed conception from the perspective of community organization to face the risks of spread electronic rumors on users of Social Media.
