The problems arising from the COVID-19 Pandemic among a sample of elderly people and A suggested role from the perspective of the Crisis Intervention model in Social Casework to alleviate their severity

Abstract

In light of a global health threat that is of great severity to the Arab region, what is supposed to be a decade of relentless work for sustainable development has turned into a decade of urgent action to save lives and restore livelihoods. The Coronavirus has sparked a crisis that reminds us that a strong and effective public sector is a line The first defense is against risks threatening entire systems. The epidemic is already expanding under multiple conflicts and financial pressures, as countries try to contain the threats emanating from its spread.
Reports indicated that some countries refuse to provide health care to the elderly, and choose to give priority to the younger ones who have a greater chance of survival, or refuse to treat the elderly who suffer from Corona-like symptoms for fear of contracting the virus, and the doctors have acknowledged that they have given priority to ventilators for young people, This means leaving the elderly to face their fate, and there are reports talking about horrific incidents of neglect in the homes of the elderly who were killed by disease, Therefore, this descriptive study aimed at identifying the problems resulting from the Corona pandemic among the elderly, and it was applied to a single sample of (70) elderly people who were infected with the Coronavirus during this pandemic, and the results indicated that the elderly suffer from a set of) problems(social, Health - economic - psychological) that negatively affected them during their injury.
